One Blue Angel seeks 100 more

Who here doesn't love the ocean and all its beauty?

Hopefully you'll be as moved as I was!  This photo is amazing-- I took it after giving the marble to my boyfriend Jaime-- it's unretouched!

I went to the California Academy of Science "Surf Night" last night and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, a super scientist who is assisting me with some research on sustainable aquaculture in Mexico for Top Chef Rick Bayless's show "Mexico: One Plate at a Time."

He gave me this blue marble and told me to imagine flying a million miles above the earth, then looking down-- that this is what the planet would look like: essentially, a planet of water.  We humans are made up of mostly water.  That is why to take care of ourselves, we must take care of this water, our planet.

I was moved, and realized too that by taking the marble I was taking on a responsibility, to give the marble to someone else to spread the word.  The marble is part of J's  quest to find 100 Blue Angels to help him in his mission to educate and inspire all people to protect our very blue planet.  For more info and to find out how you can become a BLUE ANGEL, visit J's site here: http://www.wallacejnichols.org/
