100 years of International Women's Day!

www.imow.org
This month is a fitting time for me to start a new consultancy with the International Museum of women,  producing next year's exhibition on Global Motherhood and Maternal Health, launching this fall.  I'm so excited to have this opportunity to help bring artists and advocates together on this important issue.  The exhibition will explore how a new generation of women sees and experiences motherhood as well as galvanize global audiences to take action to advance women's maternal health rights.

On the same theme, I'd like to share this piece, written by Christy Turlington in last Tuesday's Huffington Post.  She underscores the importance of this issue-- why action is needed by all of us to prevent hundreds of women from dying needlessly from what should be a beautiful, magical time in their lives.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is a big proponent of safe motherhood, in fact, she just announced a huge initiative yesterday called: Saving Lives at Birth: Launch of a Global Partnership on Maternal and Child Health
